Burson’s Global Chair of Health, Brenna Terry has a deep-seated passion for powerful healthcare communications, having spent two decades in the pharmaceutical, biotech and broader health and wellness space.

Before Burson she held the same position at Hill & Knowlton, and was responsible for the vision, strategy, client relationships and development of H&K’s global healthcare business.

Prior to H&K, Brenna led Enterprise Engagement & Communications for North America at the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson (J&J). She oversaw the planning and implementation of an integrated communications strategy, framework and narrative, encompassing organizational, executive and social/digital communications. She built and developed a diverse, talented team charged with driving understanding, alignment and engagement with Janssen’s core priorities across the company’s 5,000+ employees and key external stakeholders throughout the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

Before this role, Brenna served as Global Leader, Executive Communications & Public Affairs, where she created and executed the strategic communications platform supporting J&J’s former Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee, developing and implementing a multi-year engagement program spanning health policy, digital technologies and sustainability. She also served as Chief of Staff of the External Engagement Working Group, leading a cross-functional, cross-regional team to develop the global COVID-19 external engagement strategy and establish, socialize and oversee the Enterprise External Engagement process for J&J’s nearly 700 Global Corporate Affairs colleagues worldwide.

Brenna also worked at various public relations agencies, where she counseled senior leaders from across the healthcare industry on product, franchise, R&D and corporate communications challenges. She has provided guidance to many Fortune 500 healthcare companies, and has expertise in a wide range of disease states, including oncology and hematology, rare disease, women’s health, mental health and neuroscience, and infectious disease and vaccines.

Brenna holds bachelor’s degrees in advertising & public relations and comparative literature from the Pennsylvania State University, and a Master of Business Administration, with specializations in global business, marketing and entrepreneurship from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
