As one of the practice leads at Burson (H&K previously) and with more than 18 years of experience, Maan is a veteran in the fields of strategic communications, public relations, media training, and crisis communications, currently leading the Gaming and Esports practice at Burson in the MENA region.
Throughout his career, Maan has worked in different agencies, consulting and servicing more than 100 clients across various regional industries. Maan is bilingual and fluent in both English and Arabic, speaking and writing; he has advised on key messages and written speeches for many C-level individuals and Government officials and advises global gaming clients like Activision and Tencent, showcasing his influence on major industry players.
As a Regional Director of Gaming & Esports, Sports & Entertainment, Maan leads the Gaming and Esports practice at Burson in the MENA region. He has successfully delivered the region's mega gaming and esports projects, including Gamers8, Gamers Without Borders, the Esports World Cup, and the New Global Sport Conference. He has also managed major regional and global projects for organizations such as the ‘Saudi Ministry of Sports’, ‘Saudi Olympic Committee’, ‘Saudi Football Federation’, ‘Saudi Pro League’, ‘Saudi Esports Federation,' 'Saudi Motorsports Federation’, ‘MDLBEAST’, ‘The Royal Commission for AlUla,’ ‘Public Investment Fund’, ‘Coca Cola.’
His portfolio of projects includes running 5 years of Diriyah E-Prix, celebrating 2 years of MDLBEAST Soundstorm, promoting 3 years of ‘Gamers Without Boarders’ and ‘Gamers8’, promoting two world boxing championship fights, launching ambitious sports programs such as ‘Clubs’ Funding Strategy,’ ‘Federations’ Support Strategy’, ‘Sport Investment Program – NAFES’, ‘Future Falcons Football Development Program’, ‘National esports and gaming strategy’, ‘National sport privatization and investment strategy’, and leading the communications for the Diriyah Season, an event that hosted global sports spectacles and international concerts on a span of one month, where H+K was the leading strategy and comms agency for the season.
As a communications expert, Maan created communications strategies for several leading brands, developed their narrative, and ensured that the strategies and supporting tactics were implemented with the highest quality. Maan is also a crisis management and media training expert and has delivered those services to many reputed brands, mega-events, and C-level individuals in the region.
