Burson Names Simeon Mellalieu Hong Kong CEO

HONG KONG, SEPTEMBER 4, 2024 – Burson, the global communications leader purpose-built to create value for clients through reputation, today announced the appointment of Simeon Mellalieu as Hong Kong CEO, effective October 2, 2024.

Mellalieu brings 25 years of experience counselling multinational companies on national, regional, and global communication strategies that build brands and protect reputations. Most recently, Mellalieu was Partner, Client Development for Ketchum Asia-Pacific and Managing Director for Ketchum Hong Kong.

Throughout his career, Mellalieu has worked with an impressive portfolio of clients from fast fashion to semiconductors, automotive to gaming, travel and leisure to enterprise and consumer technology, food and beverage, banking and payments. Mellalieu is an active supporter of academic and trade bodies across Hong Kong and the broader APAC region. He is a board member of PR Hong Kong (formerly the Council of PR Firms of Hong Kong) and served as Chairman from 2010-2013.

Mellalieu started his communications career in the UK but has worked for more than two decades in Asia based in Hong Kong. Prior to Ketchum, Mellalieu worked at Bulletin International, a specialist international broadcast PR agency in London, and Cambridge-based Warman & Bannister, a specialist technology PR agency.
