Zurich, December 17, 2020 – The leading global communications company Burson today announced the appointment of a new executive board and the adjustment of its corporate structure in Switzerland. The changes give customers in Switzerland access to the entire range of services offered by the agency, which is represented in both Zurich and Lausanne.
Central to the restructuring is the appointment of Greg Curchod as the new Managing Director for the Swiss market. He is responsible for both Burson's core business in Switzerland and Burson Sports, a Lausanne-based global center of excellence.
Swiss Greg Curchod previously held a managerial position at Burson in Lausanne. He will be supported by Léonie Kelly, head of Burson's Zurich office, and Tanya Heimlich-Ng Yuen, head of the Lausanne office. Greg Curchod reports to Scott Wilson, head of Burson's Europe and Africa operations.
Léonie Kelly recently joined the company. She comes from the advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi, where she held a senior position. Tanya Heimlich-Ng Yuen has worked at Burson Sports for more than twelve years.
Lars Haue-Pedersen remains Managing Director of Burson Sports, Burson's Lausanne-based global sports agency. He continues to be a member of the Burson Switzerland Executive Board.
Scott Wilson, head of Burson's Europe and Africa business, says:
«Burson is one of the few international agencies that are also represented in Switzerland. We were named Global Agency of the Year 2020 by PRovoke Media and also top PRovoke's Global Creative Index. Against this background, we are committed to providing the best services that Burson has to offer for companies and brands in the important Swiss market.»
"The changes announced today are intended to position Burson for continued success in Switzerland in 2021," Wilson continued. “The promotion of Greg Curchod to head of Burson's Swiss business, the expanded leadership position of Tanya Heimlich-Ng Yuen and the addition of Léonie Kelly are therefore a natural progression that will benefit all of our Swiss clients and reflect the closer ties between the two of us Swiss branches, but also within the international Burson network. We have an outstanding leadership team with a lot to offer our clients by empowering those who want to help their businesses grow further."
"For 2021 and the post-COVID-19 period, we also see huge opportunities to revitalize Burson Sports' business and deliver great services to our customers worldwide. The restructuring announced today also gives Lars Haue-Pedersen the opportunity to focus fully on Burson Sports' further international expansion and bringing our offering to the Middle East, North America and Asia," said Wilson.
Greg Curchod, Managing Director of Burson Switzerland, says:
«We are pleased about the expansion and the constant and good support from the Burson management team. It is an honor for me to have the chance to lead our very strong Swiss team alongside Tanya and Léonie and I look forward to continuing to support Lars and Burson Sports. The latest developments point to new and exciting plans on the part of our customers both in Switzerland and in the international sporting events market. We have now created the basis for further growth, which we would like to put into practice with enthusiasm.»
