As the main sponsor of the Allsvenskan and Superettan football leagues, Unibet contributes to Swedish elite football and the talent development of top clubs every year. Now Unibet wanted to broaden its commitment to Swedish sport with a CSR initiative aimed at grassroots sport.
That's why we launched the Swedish Supporter Prize. A long-awaited award for the country's top supporters. A tribute to the individuals who support their team in all weathers and show the way for a decent supportership that inspires and includes. Regardless of sport, regardless of league level.
The Swedish Supporter Prize began with a launch campaign followed by a nomination phase where anyone could nominate a supporter. Hundreds of nominations resulted in 19 regional winners, and ultimately a national final winner and an honorary award winner. The winners were selected by a jury headed by Unibet ambassador Glenn Hysén.
Through the Swedish Supporter Prize, Unibet awarded a quarter of a million kronor, with the money divided between each winner and the club/athlete chosen by the supporter.



Results
Through extensive background work, a number of fantastic supporters were identified that Unibet could recognize and reward. These individuals' stories generated an enormously deserved impact across the country. In addition to a large engagement in social media, around a hundred newspaper articles, radio spots and TV clips were published. Often full pages and spreads, where the supporters' unique stories were highlighted, while Unibet's commitment to the sport and supporters could be communicated.
